The Dangers of hiring your friends for your wedding

A friendor asked if I can help a bride in need and I did. It was 6 months before her wedding and during my first conversation, I understood that she had hired some of her vendors. I just added the stylists, florist and catering team.

And then... I learned that her photographer was a friend, the venue owner was their friend, the musicians were recommended by their other friend, their MC was a friend and the officiant was their friend.

The photographer had never shot a wedding before but had a beautiful portfolio of family photos.

The musicians were not used to a timeline, had no experience performing at a wedding ceremony and they brought a friend to help consume some of the wine and dinner.

The venue had never hosted a wedding before and they "thought" they could accommodate about 100 guests.

And these are just a few challenges that needed to be addressed. This couple made the absolute right decision to hire my services. It would have been total chaos without my expertise.

I was able to pull all of the strings together and prevent a delayed ceremony, collect ring bearers and flower girls, give guidance on maneuvering family photos and portraits, keep the music playing as some musicians decided on taking a break during cocktail hour, shift the dinner service to accommodate missing silverware, save a cake from children's fingerprints, remove the uninvited guest and more..

I'm all in when you decide on having a friend or family member officiate but for everything else, please hire professionals. It's not worth the money you are saving.
